YOUR ENTITLEMENTS

Understanding the Hearing Services Program

The Hearing Services Program (HSP) is an Australian Government initiative designed to support eligible pensioners and veterans with access to hearing assessments, devices, and ongoing maintenance.

If you qualify, the program may cover:

  • Comprehensive hearing assessments

  • Fully subsidised hearing aids (from the approved device list)

  • Device fitting and adjustment

  • Follow-up appointments

  • Ongoing maintenance support

Eligibility generally includes age and disability pension recipients and DVA cardholders. If you are unsure whether you qualify, we can help confirm your eligibility.

Fully-subsidised hearing aids for pensioners and veterans

Under the Hearing Services Program, eligible clients may be fitted at Complete Hearing Care with hearing aids at no cost*.

Hearing loss develops gradually. By the time people notice it, conversations have become harder, the TV volume is up, and social situations are taking more effort.

Adopting a hearing solution will have an impact on their lives. The hearing devices that are available to pensioners under the government program are reliable and suitable for many levels of hearing loss. They come in models that are:

  • Small and discreet

  • Easier to use and maintain

  • Adapt to different listening environments

  • Focused on clarity, comfort, and confidence

If your hearing profile, needs, and lifestyle would benefit from technology and features offered in solutions beyond the fully subsidised level, we will:

  • We will clearly explain all your options, including costs, to help you make the best decision for yourself.

  • Be very clear that you are under no obligation to adopt a more advanced hearing aid.

* 'Standard-level' hearing devices from the government-approved 'free-to-client' list.

DVA CARDHOLDERS

DVA Gold Card

If you hold a DVA Gold Card, you may be eligible for more advanced, fully subsidised hearing technology, as well as hearing aid maintenance and parts coverage. This is subject to clinical need and DVA requirements. We’ll explain what options are available and guide you through the process.

DVA White Card (Special Conditions)

A DVA White Card may cover hearing services only for accepted service-related conditions, where hearing loss is listed. We can help you confirm eligibility and understand what support may apply in your circumstances.

DVA hearing services for veterans

Additional hearing support is available for Gold Card and White Card holder through the Hearing Services

We work alongside the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) to ensure eligible veterans receive access to high-quality hearing care.

You may be eligible for additional hearing-related services if you hold a DVA Gold Card or White Card (Special Conditions).

  • Comprehensive hearing assessment and review

  • Hearing aids and associated support services

  • Access to related treatment pathways when hearing impacts daily function

Eligibility and entitlements vary. We will confirm the pathway that applies to you. What matters most is starting in the right place.

Complete Hearing Care can help you understand your DVA entitlements, clarify how they align with the Hearing Services Program, and manage the process from your first appointment, including:

  • Confirm which program and benefits apply to you

  • Understand any referral or approval requirements

  • Arrange the right appointment pathway early

  • Receive care guided by clinical need and long-term outcomes

WHY COMPLETE HEARING CARE?

Where you start will shape your outcomes

When accessing government-funded hearing services, the provider you choose still matters. At Complete Hearing Care, we offer more than device provision — we provide comprehensive, ongoing hearing health support.

Broader range of treatment options

We offer a broader range of services and solutions, unlike most providers who focus solely on fitting hearing aids.

We also provide tinnitus management, earwax removal, hearing protection, and counselling.

Thorough assessment

Every recommendation follows comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and speech testing.

Independence means greater choice

Complete Hearing Care provides access to hearing aids from all leading manufacturers, including discreet, rechargeable, and high-performance options.

Independence allows us to recommend and fit hearing aids that work best for you, rather than what we are told to sell by corporate management.

Ongoing local support

We offer ongoing care in Mona Vale and throughout the Northern Beaches, guaranteeing your support long after the initial fitting. This may involve:

  • Annual Hearing Reviews

  • Device maintenance appointments

  • Replacement hearing aids (as determined by the program guidelines)

Hearing needs can evolve. Regular monitoring ensures your devices continue to perform appropriately over time.
